2019 Annual Meeting

A Symposium: T. F. Torrance on Theosis and Universal Salvation
Friday, November 22, 2019, 1:00-4:00 pm.

Event Location

Hilton Bayfront-206 (Second Level)
Session #P22-206
American Academy of Religion Annual Conference
San Diego, California, USA.

Keynote speaker: Oliver Crisp; with response by Myk Habets.

The annual meeting of the fellowship will be on Friday, 22nd November this year at the AAR conference in San Diego at the anticipated time beginning at 1 pm. The committee decided to go for a somewhat different approach this year by inviting a theologian who had areas of substantial agreement and some points of disagreement with Torrance’s theology. We have therefore invited Oliver Crisp till recently of Fuller Theological Seminary, but now of the University of St Andrews. Myk Habets will respond to his presentation and the intention is to engage in constructive dialogue.

Our annual business meeting will be held before the lecture. According to our constitution, it is the president's responsibility to name his successor, one of the co-vice presidents. But we also need nominations for the Executive Board and for a new ex-officio position as membership secretary. If you would like to nominate someone, or volunteer to serve, please contact Thomas A. Noble, president of the Fellowship, at Tanoble@nts.edu

Annual meetings take place on the Friday afternoon before start of the AAR annual meeting. The TFT Fellowship annual meeting typically lasts from 1 to 4 pm, including a 1/2 hour business meeting, followed by the annual lecture and discussion.

The T.F. Torrance Theological Fellowship is a Related Scholarly Organization of the American Academy of Religion. The 2019 Annual Meeting of the AAR will be November 23-26, 2019, in San Diego, California, USA.  The Online Program Book is available at https://papers.aarweb.org/program_book.
